The Outlook Plug-In is a feature of the Pexip Cloud Service which allows a subscriber with a Personal Video Account (PVA) and a paired Personal Virtual Meeting Room (VMR) to easily integrate with the Outlook Calendar and prepare meeting invitations. Available for Microsoft Outlook on Microsoft Windows platforms, the Outlook Plug-in allows the subscriber to sign with his PVA credentials, which then allows the Plug-in to know which VMR they are associated with. With a simple press of a button, the Outlook Plug-in will generate a meeting invitation which has all the details describing to an invitee how to join the VMR via various video technologies, and which can be placed on the user's Outlook Calendar.
In some instances a user may find that after installation of the Outlook Plug-in, the New Video Meeting button does not appear in the Outlook tools ribbon. There are some common troubleshooting steps that can be followed to resolve the issue.
- (1) Install the Outlook Plug-In by running the installation binary as an Administrator. Find the installation binary, right-click on the binary to choose the Properties option, then select the appropriate checkbox under the Compatibility tab. Save the new setting and then proceed with the installation.
- (2) Check that the Outlook Plug-In has not been disabled by Outlook as a "Slow Add-In". As more and more applications are installed on the Microsoft Windows platform and in Outlook itself, it is possible that performance slows enough that Plug-Ins for Outlook become flagged as "Slow". Set the Outlook Plug-In for "Always Enable This Add-In" to force it to appear in the Outlook tools ribbon.
The steps described above should be sufficient to resolve the issue of the missing Outlook Plug-In button in the Outlook tools ribbon. If the problem persists, contact Pexip Technical Support for assistance.
